insect preservation! ;)

Oh, man! Time to get up! Can I like jz sleep for another 5 mins?? T.T

Wai loon brought us to an estate in Teluk Gong to try our luck today. Expect to get some grasshopper or beetle but ended up with jz a dragonfly & fed the mosquitoes thr (they’re ferocious!! @.@”). Then headed to his house to preserve the big moth tht Serah’s bro had caught. Enjoy the process! =D

1. kill the insect, then disect it.

2. remove its digestive system and whatever's inside until it is empty.

3. clean the inner part of the insect with cotton soaked in formaline.

4. stuff cotton soaked in formaline until it is back to its original shape.

5. pin it to a platform and arrange the wings properly, starting with the back ones.

6. pin the paper to the polystyrene when u're done arranging.

Now, u jz gotta put it under the sun for half an hour everyday for 2-3 weeks. When it's dry, u'll have ur own preserved insect! ;D
